Well, this is the 3rd leap day i've been in. i missed the 1988 one because i was born 7+ months later. v__v ah well. funny thing is, i don't even remember the feb. 29th of 1996 or 2000. who knows? i may forget this by 2008.
it's a sunday and i'm at home. nothing wrong with that. but it's a sunday and i'm at home with tonsa work left to do. ok, there's a problem. now the bigger problem is, i can't find motivation to do my work!! even though i've been proven wrong 15497856320 times, not that i'm counting, but i still believe in LMMs (last minute miracles). i guess dm toh (or was it mr leong??) was right...by the time you're 16-17, your belief system's really set in stone, and it takes lotsa effort to change it. ah damnitall.

Can we say "yesterday's rolloff was a big goddamn screw-up and i want to forget every single detail as soon as possible"?? yes we can. i'll be spending the whole of sunday evening/night preparing for monday.
and the 2003 o results are out. there was general improvement, except for a slight drop in a maths. the mean national distinction rate for history is almost 90% for special, and almost 80% for express. this now means that the school will be ranked 10th to 12th. and the 2004 o's result is supposed to bring it to 8th position. immense pressure has now descended upon us, for we are the students sitting for the 2004 o's.
and mr. siau has really gone and become a pastor. of all people, it had to be him. i guess 3-6 '03 affected him worse than i thought. everyone in the student body who heard of it couldn't believe it. me included. but oh well. even though i'm not too happy with it, as this means my physics grade is now a potential C6, i have to respect it and wish him all the happiness in the world for his future.
looking back, this has been the most screwed up week of the year. and it's only february. what's wrong with me?? i guess god's trying to give me a sign. one of my favouritest teachers left. the irony (word usage??) of it is, he left to serve god. i really don't know what to make of it. "god helps those who help themselves". maybe i was getting too comfortable with mr siau and wang jiunn. maybe god decided to test my confidence by changing the teachers for the 2 subjects i consider myself best in. well, if that was the case, he should have replaced terence goh with serene seah. *touch wood^3million* PLEASE don't let that happen.
in an attempt to direct the mood in a more positive direction,
may your once-in-4-years birthday be so memorable that the memory will last you to your 5th and beyond. ^__^

This is the first time i have been sent home from school halfway through the first period due to sickness. oh well. there's a first for everything right??
i'm surprised. i don't have as much mental sludge as before. either i'm thinking less (which is good), or my brain's becoming smaller (which is bad).
the study plan sorta worked, i can get up at 4 just for my books. i must love them...or not. i'm getting delirious, and that means i need sleep. bye for now.

10 days to make an impact. can i do it?? i sure hope so. and i also hope that failing 3/8 subjects does not amount to "bad grades", because if it does, one of the few things keeping me living my life will be gone down the drain. then my oxidation number will decrease, and i'll be reduced to existing.
i also plan on trying out a new study method which involves sleeping at 2130 and waking up at 0400 to do work. i plan on trying it out tonight, but my sleeping hours will be greatly reduced, so don't be surprised if i appear zombie-like tomorrow.
i'll fight to the very end. even if i'm half-dead, i'll press on. the only time i'll stop is when the whole world pushes me back. even then, i'll still be smiling.

ooh...
i think i eliminated all chances of being selected for school team. oh well. even though i appear to take it easy, it doesn't mean i'm not disappointed. because i am. extremely. damn.
luckily, the teachers didn't have anything negative to say during the meet the parents session, except for terence, who said i owe him some assignments, but that's my fault. yay. wheeeeeeee. wahoooo...or not.
it's getting harder to keep smiling.

Time for a jumbo update...i was too tired on friday and was out of the house for most of saturday. here we go...
the school in the morning wasn't so bad. we did a maths and some physics. and the talk on terrorism. how fun. then we burnt our asses off in the sun while eddie lim tried to wow us with his vast vocabulary..."i see no impetus to start the talk" after that, went home to take ball bag to turf city. if there's one thing i can't stand, it's people telling me they're disappointed in me. unfortunately, mrs long just had to tell me that, so i ended up taking an empty ball bag to turf city. luckily, i had company, so i didn't look like a total idiot. the laksa there is WONDERFUL. you don't even need chopsticks. just wow.
cross country was fun. it felt good to run. or am i deceiving myself again?? ok, i'm deceiving myself. running may not be good, but pushing your body is. then went to collect ball at victor's. by the time i got home, it was 2005 hrs. then took a nice long hot bath, checked my mail, wrote up something short and went to sleep because i was tired, but also because i had to get up at 0745 the next day.
charity bowl on saturday, ie yesterday. just went there to cheer and bowl 4 frames. take note, it's FRAMES, not games. total waste of time. then, went back to victor's to watch the team selections, which i could have been in if not for the charity bowl. ah well. so after they finished the 6 games, we had a little conference room, then i bowled 4 games. paying for fun is good. not paying people just for the hell of it, but paying to have a good time.
and i think l left something very important at victor's...i'm a dead man.

The sadness seems to have temporarily dissipated, and that's good...or i think it is.
ca results are...discomforting. it shows that we need to work extra hard to make up for the lack of marks. it also shows that i need to pia for chinese. the results are as follows:
EL: 14 for compre, and if my spying skills don't fail me, i got 25/50 in total.
CL: 28/100?? wow. friggin wow.
Maths: 30/60. yay. i guess i wasn't thinking clearly during the paper.
A Maths: 36/60. whee.
and this is all i know so far. can we say "total disappointment"? yes we can. i'm praying for a miracle in ss and the 2 humans, but i'm hoping i pass physics and don't fail chem. if this goes on, i'll never be a chumpion and bring the school's ranking up with the sole intent of defeating RI in 5 years.
and cross country tomorrow. woohoo. and school in the morning prior to that. wowee. and i have to collect my ball and bring it to safra yishun and then back to victor's again. yay. it's gonna be a good day. look forward to it.
except for the fact that i'm in ENGLISH REMEDIAL.

There's a cloud of sadness around me. my friends are all going through one problem or another. not that i'm complaining. i just feel so...affected. aah. it's only febuary and depression is in the air already. it's difficult to keep up the tenken spirit under these circumstances.
well, at least the ca's over. temporary relief. but he prelims draw ever closer, and that's not a good thing. now to get back papers and scream/whine/moan/whatever about the rotten results. i got this feeling i'll only pass 5. instead of my ambitious target of getting at least a c5 for everything. then i'll be demoralized and f9 everything in the first prelim. i can just picture that. personally, an f9 in anything means no future. gah.
looking around, i realize my life isn't as bad as i may make it out to be. maybe i'm just too blind. too blind to see the good things around me. but i suppose seeing them every day has made it seem so...there. if it was to go away, i'd really be lost. i guess i'm disillusioned by all the stuff i've been reading and watching. there's no way a guy can win a girl's heart just by giving her a microwave oven.
ah well. such is life.

Life. it can be as strong as steel, hard as diamond, or as fragile as glass. damn. like HBK (the real one this time, not my principal) said, "Everything can change in a second. That's all it takes." how true.
CA's ending next monday, ie tomorrow, as i don't take lit. oh boy. no school on tuesday. watching last samurai on thursday. cross country on friday. team selections on saturday. looks like the week's gonna be pretty packed.
~thingy of the day: Love is a happy thing. It makes us laugh, it makes us sing. It makes us sad,it makes us cry. It makes us seek the reason why. It makes us take, it makes us give. But most of all, it makes us live.~

Common tests/CA1 royally suck. i got this not-good feeling that i'll pass 5 subs, 6 max. this is not good. passing is supposed to come NATURALLY to me now!! i'm supposed to be aiming for A's, not *passes*. this doesn't look all too bright. oh well. i'll find a way around this...i hope.
pressure's coming in from the cca side as well. team selections on valentine's day. wowee. just...wowee. this sucks. This sucks so badly that it's regurgitating everything it's ever sucked. and we have cross country the day before. how are we expected to hit 200 averages when our muscles are aching like someone did something really bad to them?
and the cross country's not at macritchie...no...it's at turf city (wherever that is) and it's after school. so that means after denis guan us with acid (for all the guys not familiar with chem, that's colloquial for 'suan'...acid...sour...oh forget it.) and some pmsing by the other teachers, we have to run this really long stretch of road or something like that. wow.
i learnt something new today. it's gonna be my favourite phrase on the lanes. "first throw of first frame of first game, in a calm blue ocean scenario."
~thingy of the day: OK, I lied. go here and click on the Kuzu Ryu Sen link. Save it to your computer, and you get to hear the great Hiko Seijurou XIII repeatedly talking about those nine cuts. ~
