Somehow, CNY this year felt strangely un-festive. while i'm inclined to pin it all on the army once again (after all, how excited can you be in tekong?), i think there are other reasons as well. but well, almost a week has passed since the celebrations already, so i guess there's no point in dwelling on it for too long.

POP in another 4 weeks! or 3 weeks+ rather. hard to believe BMT's coming to an end already. i'm actually having mixed feelings about leaving tekong. on one hand, it would be nice to not be the lowest life-form in the SAF any more, but at the same time, i don't know if i'll be lucky enough to have good superiors (like i have now) in my future unit posting.

it's kind of odd how army robs you of any free time. sure, you get to book out, but even then, you rarely feel like going out. not to mention the lack of concession for bus and train fares. sometimes, it really sucks not to be a student any more.

anyways, i'm also running out of stuff to blog about. life practically becomes nonexistent after enlistment. oh well. i think i'll end off here. still have to go to beach road to pick up a few supplies.

27 days with no updates. wow. i'd never thought i'd see it happen.

anyway, about 9 weeks have passed since i was enlisted. that's almost an entire school term! in that time, i've fired an M16, thrown a grenade, survived field camp, route marched a total of 28 km, and done some other interesting stuff. so now, all that's left until POP is slacking, preparing for IPPT, SOC, and about 52 more km of route marching, 12 km of which will be covered this coming wednesday.

i'm still quite reluctant to post on army stuff, because the definition of "off-limits" is not very clear. but i don't think i've revealed anything that important in the above paragraph, so it should be ok.

moving away from army stuff, there are rumors floating around that the A-level results will be released this coming friday. while i do want to know how well/badly i've done, i really hope that the results only come out after the CNY break. imagine going visiting knowing that you got EEEE or something like that. makes it rather hard to smile and be happy, no?

booking in at 7:15 pm later. so sian. i still have an hour or so before i have to leave home. it's the 2 to 3 hours before and during booking in that feel the most sucky. oh well. i'd better go off to prepare my smart 4 and do some other army-ish stuff. until this coming friday then!
